You would have seen, and likely recognised (if you’re a Darwin local) the beautiful Lily North’s face on our social media before. She has been a customer with us for over 2 years (a religious visitor of our Mitchell Centre salon) and is just as big on self-love (and good brows) as we are. We are super excited to announce Lily North as our Darwin Browz & Beauty Ambassador!! Get to know Lily with us in this one-on-one interview, where Lily tells us a bit about herself, why good brows are important and the one thing she believes all women should do at least once in their life time.
Lily! We are SO excited to have you on board at Browz & Beauty! Tell us how you first discovered Browz & Beauty and what you love most about us.
I first discovered Browz and Beauty when a friend told me how amazing threading is. I didn’t even know what it was! I used to get my eyebrows waxed all the time but now after having threading, I will never go back. I love how precise the shape is. The ladies are always so lovely and make you feel like a million bucks when you leave!
We love hearing this – thank you! What are 3 facts about you that we may not know?
I grew up on a dairy farm until I was 5 (cows, gum boots and all!). I love property and real estate. Currently renovating an apartment to put it up on AirBnb. I am an Event Planner and Professional MC and absolutely love events.
Thoughts on self-care and making time for it regularly?
Self-care is something that has become more important to me the older I get. When I was younger, I would punish myself by over exercising, over working and over eating. Today, my lifestyle is more focused on what brings me the most joy and peace.
Have you always lived in Darwin? Where did you grow up?
I moved to the Gold Coast and lived there until I was 19. I then moved to Darwin and have lived here ever since.
What is on your bucket list?
I took 4 months off to travel Europe and America solo in 2022 so I was able to tick a few items off my bucket list like Switzerland and the Bahamas. Both were just as sensational as the other. I worked for years to save for the trip and I’m glad I did. I would however love to travel to the Maldives! I highly recommend every woman take a solo trip at least once in their life. It was truly life defining. I met so many wonderful women on the trip from all over the world.
That’s amazing!! We commend you for that! Traveling alone can be so daunting for some, good on you for following that dream! Now, tell us one beauty product you couldn’t live without?
Moisturiser! Although one good thing about living in Darwin is that it’s humid all year round, so your skin is always glowing!
A guilty pleasure?
I’m an absolute sweet tooth. Chocolate Mouse is my go-to!
Favourite thing about Darwin?
I love the lifestyle here. It takes me 10 minutes to get to everything and only 2 minutes to drive to work!
Give us an idea of what a day in the life of Lily North looks like?
I work part time at my corporate job three days a week. The other two days I am working in my business, Belong Group. I wake up around 6am, head into the office or if I’m working from home, I like to go for a walk first then start my day around 9:30am. I work until 5ish then cook dinner with my partner. At the end of a day we wind down by watching some Netflix.
Who doesn’t love a good Netflix wind-down at the end of the day?! On a scale of 1-10, how important are good brows?
10! I believe they are one of your most important facial features because they frame the eyes which then frames your face.
